The Lottery Office’s Donation To CareFlight And Their Life-Saving Mission
The Lottery Office is proud to have donated $10,000 to CareFlight, an Australian aeromedical charity dedicated to saving lives quickly and safely. CareFlight’s mission is to provide critical care to Australians in need, no matter where they are, and to ensure they receive the medical attention they require.
CareFlight’s origins date back to 1986 when its founder identified a need for faster and more efficient transport of critically ill and injured patients. He established CareFlight as a single-helicopter rescue service. It has since grown into a national organisation with a fleet of helicopters, turboprop planes, aeromedical jets, and medical teams working tirelessly to save lives across Australia.
The Lottery Office’s donation to CareFlight will be used “in support of CareFlight’s Sick and Injured Kids in the Bush (SIKITB) workshop. This is a mobile, evidence-based workshop combining practical skills training and relevant scenario-based discussions. It’s designed to assist clinicians and other key members of regional, rural and remote communities treat injuries and illnesses in children and babies. This is provided free of charge to participants to ensure community resilience.”
The donation will enable child mannequins to be purchased, which will be incorporated into the SIKITB program. These realistic mannequins feature objective feedback, improving training quality, learner engagement and classroom efficiency.
